short in shifter lights

I have a 98 honda civic. i was wondering how i would go about finding and fixing a short in the lights on the shifter?? thanks

You actually have a short or the light is just out? Check the bulb.

its a short. if ya hit it a certain way the lights come on.

It's only 1 bulb. The filament could be busted and touches when you disturb it. Start with the bulb and go from there.
