Starting issue, but just a question

I see you know a lot about civics, I currently rebuilt my sons d16y8 after blowing #4 rod threw the oil pan
I got a short block honed and replace with new pistons , I also did the oil pump mod , but not the shim on the pressure spring

I reinstalled the motor, getting spark but no spark timing set perfect
But is had placed the ground that went to the water neck on the transmission ground would that be a problem , plus it was really super tight , I felt that there was movement in the ground connection.

Iam currently pulling the motor back out cause there something I don't like the way the harness runs behind the intake

Sorry for the emal

Thanks for the info

The G101 ground that normally attaches to the thermostat housing is probably fine because, if it wasn't, the engine would lack both spark and fuel.

Why not attach G101 to the proper location?

I just didn't think it went there I thought it went under the trans mount

Iam use to building American big block motors , usually just 2 grounds

Thanks for your reply
