No really, I have spent a lot of time researching those forums. I wanted a straightforward answer but I cannot find one. I have a 4 speed hatch and I would like to do mpfi swap. I already have all the parts I need, but what about the tranny? Can I still keep my 4 speed (36 MPG rocks!) or should I look for 5 speed one? Can I use a 1989 CRX si transmission without any hassle? Guys, ladies (if you are out there) please help. Thanks

yes u can keep your stock 4spd but you will enjoy the 5sp more and mileage isnt that much diff. and yes a crx si trans will work fine no problems

hahahahaha yeah.....and yes you can use the 5 or the 4 speed....the 4 speeed just has longer gears, but tops out in 4th just like the si tops out in 5th

Great! Thank you so much! Now, dudes at the local junk yard sell the si trannies for 200.00 it is kinda steep, isn't it?
