sun spots?

hello, I have a black 93 civic dx and the paint is all good, just needs to be waxed a little and more taken care of.

but the roof and trunk have kinda faiding marks all over, huge greyish white spots with no paint on it. or very little. feels kinda like primer or something.

is there anything I can do to fix this my self?

Also if i were to get it painted at makos would I have to sand the whole car down to primer including the alright paint? or just the bad parts?

Give it a nice professional detail. After you get some wax on the paint, have a reputable detailer buff out the gray spots and re-wax. The gray is just from the clear coat fading out. Some times a good buff job will bring it back to life.
