Switching driver/passenger door lock?

My driver side door lock locked up and no longer works with the key from the outside. I got the driver side lock cylinder out with the plan of switching it for the passenger side lock but after looking online it seems that the driver/passenger lock cylinders are being sold as different part numbers. Has anyone switched the locks around? Im starting to wonder now if the locks are not interchangeable?
Thanks

That was the first thing I tried before I even took the lock out. I believe the tumblers are broke in the lock.
I do not know but I would imagine the opposite sides of the car locks would be mirrored versions of themselves. If this is true then you probably cannot switch which side of the car the lock is on. But, I do not know.

Try going to the junkyard and find a car with it's key there and get those locks? That's what I did on my sisters civic
