switching to synthetic .... its not too late but not really needed....keep in mind honda developed these motors with the understanding of what is required to run them. I worked @ honda and nothing got synthetic. not even s2k or the new si.

synthectics have more detergents in them to keep the motor cleaner but thats about it, id say non synthetic does the job just fine

Synthetic also lasts longer roughly 7,500 miles just keep using 20w/50 no need to use synthetic.

20w50? Wtf are you retarded? Do NOT run that thick of oil. 10W30 and synthetic will work fine, free is even better.

synthetic is ok to use whenever. just keep it constant. dont go switching back and forth at each change. 5w/10w depending on where you live

He has about 125k miles if you convert it to miles, so its not really way up there.
Yes, you should be fine running synthetic.

who cares. the question is synthetic or non-synthetic, not the thickness.

conventional oil has been perfectly fine for me.

when did i ever say your recommendation against 20w50 was wrong? i said 10w30 shouldnt be used on a honda with tight tolerances in canada.....doesnt matter though because whatever i say youll still think youre right, so you win man, go ahead and tell everyone you want who lives in a tundra to use 10w30 you wont hear a peep out of me.....sorry for thread jackin op

Only thing to be careful is if your engine is in bad shape or possibly you drive around in dirty conditions, those "gunk" deposits that have built up in your engine could possibly be blocking up holes on seals and other parts. The synthetic oil could clean them out and you may start leaking. Just something to think about. Mine has about 145k mi. and I will also be switching to synthetic today so hopefully mine doesn't start leaking =)

Alright well i did the oil change and i like the oil alot i mean it might just be in my head but the motor sounds quiter and it just revs smoother. I hope i dont start burning or leaking oil or anything but i guess well just have to see.
