Kinda frustrating I have to wait 30 seconds even if my original search came up w/nothing..............

Anyone else feel this pain?

BTW I'm on a T1 here w/a 3ghz 2xcore at home my Mac does the same thing....

But really does it matter how long it takes, depending on what your looking for it make take a bit since it's searching through 6 years of threads and or post to find something.

I'm talking about your 2nd search CC mandates that you wait 30 seconds before it even tries.............

even if your first search didn't find anything....

Trust me this has nothing to do w/my computer or ISP.

i know, but curious.
Only due to knowing about issue's with some providers about speed of their service's, such as Comcast being forced to pay a s**t load of money out cause they were failing to provide customer with the service's they were paying for, but were getting a lesser speed service instead, lol, f**ked up, but true.

It's even admitting here it's how the forum is set up not me....

I'm not a fan of waiting to search again either.

I know some forums do it with the posts, but not with the searches.

ah got, ya, but isn't it standard on most sites that you wait so long between search's, at least on the one i have been on or seen.

my other sites have 10 second wait if any, and others don't force you to wait if your search comes up empty......

I'm sure it's to prevent someone from overloading the server but i'd think if search A comes up empty, you search for a different term and search B will let it go through if it's not the same as search A.

It sucks waiting for that timer to do a search. Some forums don't even have a search timer and are larger than this forum

Well thats a gay rule. I removed the timer . I 'll let you guys know if it affects server load any.

lesson learned: complain like a pregnant woman waiting in line for donuts and you'll get hot fresh donuts handed to you ahead of the other waiting patrons in the store (perhaps with spit on them but donuts non-the-less)
