I once had to explain to this girl how astronomy worked.
Now joke here's what she thought her whole life:
She thought the atmosphere was the earths crust, a solid an the stars were just holes in the earths crust shining the light through.
I had to sit her down and explain what the sun is and how all those stars are other suns.
She was floored, ok she wasn't the brightest chick out there, she was maybe 19 at the time. She was soo amazed when she found out.
