tire size for si wheels?

Hey, I just picked up a set of used si wheels and need a good set of budget tires.

What size tire is everyone running on si wheels?

195/55/15 is what comes standard. You can also go with a 195/50/55 for a lower profile.

Yeah, that is one of the sizes discount tire recommended. I noticed another size listed, a 205/50-15, and wasn't sure if that would be better/worse.

I wasn't sure if anyone was going with smaller or larger size than recommended by the manufacturer.

When I bought my Si's I just went with the recommended size of 195/55/15 and I think they look fine.

It will be lowered on tein s-techs very soon. Wouldn't the 50 be a shorter profile? I would think that would give more fender gap?

I noticed the 205's were a bit cheaper and wondered if anyone on here had a set and how they liked them.

i have 205/50/15 kuhmo ecsta mx's on my si's. when i bought them i had auto-x in mind. i look at it now and wish i got the 195's. the 205s are a pretty fat tire. they do rub a bit on the inside of the wheel well. just my opinion.

The only thing about 205/50's that I don't like...is that the side wall is a bit taller...

did you notice a difference in handling when you went from 205 to 195? i read it all the time on reviews but i don't really think 10mm would make that much of a difference. i figure your expert advise would be much better
