turbo question

Do you have to have a flex pipe attached to the downpipe or can you just run a downpipe with out a flex pipe to a test pipe?? what does the flex pipe do that a test pipe doesnt do? new to turbos and s**t so dont flame

Running without a flexpipe is do-able but it'll vibrate the hell out of the exhaust. and when you hit your DP on something, it'll bend the exhaust as well. I ran without one for a while, I then threw one on there for shits and giggles and it gives me comfort if it needs room to move then it can.

you are going to end up cracking either the DP or manifold from the vibrations

all a test pipe does is replace the cat. neither a cat or test pipe are necessary if you dont have emissions testing ;)

cant you connect the downpipe to the test pipe? or does the downpipe replace the test pipe to were it would just connect to the cat-back portion of the exhaust?

its all in how its built. you can do either
