I just did a swap and i always have power to vtec (around 3v) with the key on. So its like having the vtec on all the time. i whould not mind but i like oil pressure in my case at low rpms too. what do you think it could be. thanks.

that is bad for your engine to have vtec all the time, get the correct ecu.

i got the swap from hmoonline with a p72. is that the wrong pcu for that motor?

yes the car is now OBD1 and that what i have been looking for while i have this page open too but my head is starting to hurt with all the reading im doing all over the place.

dose the vtec work with power on at the plug and it gets a ground to turn it on? or dose it get battery to turn it on? right now i have around 3 volts to the plug when the key is turned on.

a signal is sent from the ecu to the vtec solenoid. go on youtube and search for how vtec works and watch the video on there to understand more about it
