I wanted to ask you all what tire pressure do you all use for 17 inch rims ? I am thinking about upgrading my stock wheels to a set of 17 inch wheels ? I own a 1996 Honda Civc HX ? Would I use the same tire pressure ? Thanks for any help.

The tire pressure listed on tire is max tire pressure for the tire.

Use OEM tire pressure... look for the sticker located on your driver side door.

Should be 30 PSI front and 29 PSI rear if I'm not mistaken...

Wuth 205/40/17's, try running 35 psi. Anything lower is hazardous to your rim.
30 is too low for everyday driving. I know people that run 40 psi.
They would rather have a stiff ride than break a rim.

- It's a personal choice. Some like the lower psi( 30 ) for handling benefits. Others like the rim protection and run higher psi( 40 ). Try diffrent pressures and see what u like best. 2-4 lbs. of tire pressure will make a diffrence.

I typically run 2 or 3 psi higher than the recommended factory pressure for oem setup (on your doorjam). This has worked well for me in the handling and wear department. If you underinflate, your tires will wear on the outside edges faster. If you overinflate, the center of the tread will wear faster. Find a good balance for handling and wear.
