So I figured since Vjf requested an interesting thread I thought this would be kinda cool. Where do you guys work (if you work) we all don't have the most expensive of cars so I'm sure our jobs match and I'm sure aren't the best :D

Name place of employment and the crappiest most hated part of your job. Salary/hourly pay (optional)

I work at A credit card company full time, I make 14 an hour plus incentive and my job sucks because it's corporate America and I have to pretend like I care about people's problems when in reality half the stuff is their own fault.

I work at the Institute for Simulation and Training as a research assistant. I'm on a contract, but if I calculated it out and included the tuition they pay, I make about $21 an hour. My job doesn't suck though.. I love my job and my boss is awesome, so I can't say I have too many complaints.

On the flip side, my job responsibilities are constantly changing, so I never get bored. I get to work with high level military officers (just met the head of simulation at 29 palms the other day, he's a major in the marines) and I'm constantly learning new things while I get to play with technology. Win win for me.

I work part time at Walmart getting 35-40 hours a week. I make $11.05 an hour. I do carts so you can imagine that it sucks when the weather is bad. Working an 8 hour shift in the rain or snow storm really sucks. I also have to clean up spills and the bathrooms. I won't get into that though.

My job sucks because everyone in the entire store, including management, expects me to do everyone else's job on top of our own. Just about every night they pull us to unload the trucks and they expect us to keep up with carts at the same time. We're always getting yelled at for something. We're pretty much the store grunt.

I work for Kirkwood School District overseeing the Nutrition and Health Department for 8 schools and 2 other neighboring districts. I also tutor for a private prepatory school til 6pm once I leave my home school.

I turned down a job at SSM Medical last month b/c I my heart is in education...no complaints except the salary, but the benefits and vacation are amazing.

I work at Starbucks. We get great benefits but our wages are petty change. There are a lot of cool aspects to my job and customers I do love to see. I love most my coworkers and we hang out as friends outside of work. A cup of coffee is a turning point in someone's day, so a good experience could potentially make their day. Even if I make someone laugh for a second by making a fool of myself it's worth it, and that alone is rewarding.
On the other hand, we bust our asses and get told to do more. There's always something wrong and I deal with shitty people all day who don't even treat us as humans. I work at the crack of dawn every day, am used as a work horse because I'm good at my job, and my boss is the kind of person that doesn't care about us, just what we can do for her.

So you're up at 4am M-F like I am too? I work from 6-6 M-F, in bed by 930pm at the latest.

I work 6:30 to 3. I like the fact that when people are having a hard time I can help them. 15 minutes ago some lady called in because she was maxed out and wanted to give her kids a good Christmas but couldn't afford it this year so I adjusted 900 something dollars of interest she's paid and refunded it to her. She was so grateful and crying and so happy, things like that almost make it worth it.

Sounds like the woman is a fool. If a card is maxed out and she can't afford gifts, maybe she should be spending money elsewhere like trying to pay it off, instead of racking it up more. If there's no money to pay more, why borrow more? Teach her kids right, and they'll understand that times are tough and there isn't money to spare.

Some people are just retarded.

I work at Harris RF Communications but I'm technically employed by Yoh Staffing Agency. They're a temp agency. My contract is up in April but I hope I get hired. I really like this job.

The crappiest part is watching other people be lazy and surf the internet all day while they give me work to do then turn back around and go back to surfing the internet.

I work at Honda of Kirkland. I just started here and I came from another Honda dealership in Everett. Up in Everett I was a Service Writer and I LOVED it. Now I'm a Service Dispatcher until one of the Service Writer's here leaves then I'll take his slot.

I love being a Service Writer. I love educating people about their cars and using my passion and knowledge to do so. However, the only part about my job that sucks is the stupid people who come/call in. Also there's always the cheap bastards, and the impatient snobs. But those are everywhere.

Lol. You don't even know her situation, she had a 12 thousand dollar balance from a oncology doctor because her 6 year old little girl had some weird form of leukemia. I had the charges from the medical center and that specialists office.

Oooooh. Insert foot in mouth?
There are those people though who don't know how to be responsible about money though, I agree.

But that's super cool what you did.=)
I liked being a Service Writer because if someone came in and their brakes were literally metal to metal and they looked me in the eye and honestly said, "I seriously don't have enough money to pay for this" I would cut them a deal.

Lol you didn't know the situation it's cool. Alot of people are idiots and I just take it case to case but she was so polite and not expecting anything and I just felt so bad about the situation I know it made her year. Especially because 1,000 is alot, especially with the holidays and being in and out of the hospital it was just an unbelievably tough situation for her. I try to be helpful to people who need it and deserve it as I'm sure one day something will happen to me and I hope the next person does what's best for me as I've done.

I just started up my own dog care service business with my girlfriend. We are just starting out and because so, we are starting small. Just offering services such as walks for a specified amount of time, home visits when owners are away or at work, transportation services, etc... If I break it down I could make about $34 an hour on average. Of course I'm not really taking in that much as most of that money is going back into the business at this point. Once this is off and running, it'll be a good income and is very rewarding to myself and others.

As for previous/sucky jobs... I was a Toyota tech for a while and yeah, it sucked lol. I'm a very good worker and my managers and co-workers noticed and somewhat took advantage of it. The other techs that were on the same "line" as me worked less hours, were given the easier jobs and got paid the same. Everyone knew I did good work and I was efficient(worked fast with no sacrifice in quality of work) so they always came to me first for everything... I made pretty good money pulling in a lot of hours but I payed the price and it affected me physically. At only 20 years old I started to show signs of a bad back. I'm 22 and have a buldged disk in my lower back. I couldn't take the pain any more and thought it'd be better to quit before it got any worse.

Made a couple of life changes and for the better. This new business is great and I think it's just what I need and I love doing it. Can't ask for anything more. Hopefully in little time we will be able to open up our own "shop" to have in-house day care for dogs and offer training, grooming, boarding and other services.

Consolidated Container Company

Level 3 general equipment manager. We make plastic HDPE (imagine a detergent bottle) and have a PET line (like pepsi/coke 20oz and 2 liters) but it never ran right and is being replaced. Bascially keep the lines running and to routine and prevenative maintenance on the machines. Currently participating in a new performance program thats being bled into our company slowly, I do all the maintenance training and scheduling. 14 dollars an hour, I work 10:45pm to 7:15am 3rd shift and as it stands we are running 7 days a week until april. Worst thing about my job is my shift lead is a complete moron, can not operate the machines and has zero tech skills. Certain people above dont seem to care, the machines almost run themselves anyway so I guess why make waves. I try to stay calm and hopefully everything will work their way out.

Other than that its a 45 min drive over the river into Arkansas and I live in Mississippi its not bad really.

I'm sure you signed something somewhere that information is confidential, and you're spreading a woman's business. No names were mentioned, but still....

I stand my ground. Nope, I sure don't know the situation and it's not my business, but I also know not to borrow money I don't have just to have nice things and a break in life.

Earlier this year my heart condition became a lot worse than what I originally had, with w/ no medical insurance, then lost my job. You don't see me trying to increase credit limits. I live off my debit account and only that. Sure, I want nice things, sure I feel like I deserve it, sure it would be AWESOME to have a break in life. But in the end, racking up more debt to enjoy something isn't going to help my situation at all. A lot of s***ty things happened to my family all throughout my life, mostly medical, and to many other people. Ya know what? No one deserves s***ty medical things to happen, but when the money isn't there, it doesn't matter. Yes, things are nice to have, but digging a hole is worse in the end.

I'm not saying what you did is wrong, I'm just stating the woman is stupid.

And sorry to hijack!

Yeah she's stupid for calling in wanting a lower interest rate. Dude your point of view is completely ignorant. I'm not sharing account information an I am aloud to share expieriences on the phone just so I don't release any names so thanks. She wasn't stupid and honestly you calling her stupid because she wanted her daughter to survive so was put in debt is completely beside me because she didn't ask for it and because she didn't have the money for her medical bills does not make her stupid.
