Actually, with some other makes and models Mexico is considered a good place to get parts. I know it was some US company that built them in Mexico...

Not necessarily.

Chrysler's most reliable car (PT Cruiser) is made in Mexico.

Nissan Sentras are made in Mexico

Ford Focuses are made in Mexico

Volkswagen Jettas and Golfs were made in Mexico. The last gen of GTi was made in South America

For a time Cadillac Escalades, Chevy Tahoes, and GMC Yukons were made in Mexico although I think production is exclusively at the Arlington, TX plant now. :what:

Except for the Focus' early production woes I don't think those cars are too terrible....maybe the VWs but their owners are usually pretty loyal in spite of that.
