Yes and no, regardless of OBD you can make it work. The fuels maps for both engines will be different, but the first gen d15b will do fine; it'll run much like a z6. However, the OBD2 JDM d15b will not work right if; it will need a second vtec switch for 12 valve mode. You won't see the full 55 mpg benefit from 12 valve mode because fuel maps are different, but you can make it work.

What is the ecu that goes with the jdm d15 vtec, 5 speed engine?

If your trying to run the P28 on an obd2 you would need a jumper harness and would have to wire it in.
Considering the money and labor of that wouldnt it just be cheaper to buy the right ecu?
Virgin P28= $85-100
Rywire Jumper= $105
Labor= Priceless
Cons to think about: Vtec wont hit right or maybe not at all an your engine will be running perty rich.
Or
Search around
Get on honda tech an theres the Virgin PO8(ecu for the jdm d15b)
shipped for 150
and you could proly find it cheaper on craigslist or at a junkyard

Good luck on this man.
