will any D series trans work for a d16z6?

i have a 1996 civic ex with a d16Z6 bottom end and wonder what 5 speed trans i would need since this isnt the orignal motor. im pretty sure most any D series trans will work but i want some reassurance before i go and buy me one..

any d series tranny will bolt up

They will work but don't use the DX or LX trans, DX and LX have tall gears, not so good with accelerating. EX trans is the way to go!

aight cool thats what i was thinking but didnt know bout the difference in EX. ill be sure to only look for an EX.. thanks alot guys.
