damn 220 at the wheels using only 7 psi. I should boost my gsr.

GSR is actually a better boosting platform because the compression ratio is like 9:1 where as the ITR is closer to 11:1 another thing to remember when running boost and/or higher compression is to make sure to have the proper octane fuel to use. Too low octane = detonation. Detonation = death to your motor.

he's just an idiot... hit your co-worker behind the head...

so the eclipse gs-t, gsx, runs about 5-6psi i believe ... they last pretty good, volvo, audi, etc ... like everybody indicated... great tuning and you'll have a nice set..

a turbo with 7psi aint gonna do much to a stock motor, not serious tuning is needed concidering a FMU will do fine, just be sure to have basic fuel upgrades- fuel pump, injectors, etc. Yea a tune will always be nice, but you should be running plenty rich after taking care of the fuel. Once you get serious and you have access to a dyno, go ahead and upgrade to hondata-uberdata. Buddy of mine runs the same stock B18 setup, runs 13.4 on street tires on 6psi.

I think you mean the LS motor (b18b)
B18B1 1.8L 16V DOHC PGM-FI 1834 '94-'00 Integra RS/LS/GS (DC) USDM 142@6300 127@5200 9.2:1

these are specs I found on the specs page for the GSR
B18C1 1.8L 16V DOHC VTEC PGM-FI 1797 '94-'00 Integra GS-R (DC) USDM 170@7600 128@6200 10.0:1

He may have been making a reference to your engine specifically. Not B18Cs in general.

Maybe you already have a lot of blow-by and other problems associated with age, wear and tear, etc...

Thanks everyone for your input. I'm going to go ahead with the turbo and run about 7 psi. I've got everything that I need, Now I just need some time off to put it on and tune it.

Beelze, he was making reference to any B series motor. He told me that he had many friends that blew their motor off of the same turbo with the same psi.

My motor is in good shape it has less than 60K on it, no leaks and doesn't burn oil.

TUNE IT BEFORE YOU GETON IT! I've seen many people mess up their motor because as soon as they got their turbo on they take it out and rip ass. If you get your car dyno tuned after you slap that turbo on you'll be fine. You shoudl have it tuned for daily driving, and also have race settings.

this is the gods honest truth- after i installed my trubo, i was told to make 2 thrid gear 7000 rpm pulls with it
to make sure the trubo was spooling, wastegate was working, and bov working- had a huge fear of doing
that, cause my motor was a stock, 30000 mile jdm swap motor, but the dyno shop told me to do it, so i did
it- and after the first pull, got a nice, pretty, black cloud of smoke going behind me.... compression test showed 2 failed cylinders, victims of broken ring lands.....
SO THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS.....nobody can tell you weather your motor will hold boost or not, even looking at before-hand compression test numbers....they can tell you it will PROBABLY hold, but not
DEFINATELY... nobdy knows that...
i ran my car extremelt rich to be safe, so i know it wasnt detonation, it just didnt handle it. so ive said it before, and ill say it now, wait till you have the money to build the motor if it gives out.
then it wont matter if that hater d**k at your shop is right, cause when your motor is built and your shitting all over what he drives, the world will be a better place. :D

with a motor like that you should lower the compression when you go turbo. your motor will hold up on 7psi but in do time you will see blue smoke coming out ur muffler.

7 to 10 psi is good as long as it is tuned well.
