This is weird. I did a search, and couldn't find anything. I am talking about the two small Toshiba light bulbs at the front top of the cluster that screw in. One is by itself and one has two wires connected to it. A week ago I disconnected the left side while I was opening up my cluster...

Checked the VSS plug at the sensor on the tranny. Unplugged it. Didn't see much corrosion, but cleaned it anyways with a Q tip. Removed the cluster and cleaned the connections. Removed the cluster, then removed the speedometer from the cluster, and blew off any dust on it. I didn't see anything...

Update: I cleaned the VSS. Took the gear/shaft out of the sensor part, and cleaned it up. Has some corrosion, but nothing bad. Put it back together. The speedometer worked perfectly for about a half a mile, then started to act up again. Haven't found the fix.

Well there is my answer. One more question, Just installed the new manifold/ cat, and when I unplugged the o2 sensor wires from the harness, I forgot which one went where. : O From the harness end, there is a connector that stick out further than the other. I am not sure which one goes...

Thanks guys. If you have a 2003- 2005 Civic, this will work as well if you just want to replace your cluster. For the 2001-2002 Civics, you have to repin the connectors, I can direct you to 10)% direct instructions.

It does throw a code every few months. I just reset it. Sometimes the check engine light goes out by itself. p0420 or something like that. No codes right now. Been a few months now.

I know the sensor is not the reason why I failed smog. I am just wondering if running it rich could have damaged the o2 sensor as well.
