Hey is it ok to mix Synthetic oil with natural/petrolium oil? My mechanic says he does it all the time with no problems, what do you think? The Synthetic is: Mobil1 5w50 The Natural is: Castrol Magnetic 10w40 (Both oils work fine on their own)

No, the only thing that affects the sound is the speed of the car. Nothing else (including pressing/releasing the brakes) has any effect at all.

Well either one is better than the crap my mechanic put in there when the tranny was reconditioned. Honda seem to know whats best for their vehicles so ill go for the Honda MTF.

It only happens when the engine is cold, but even still it only happens about every second start. I have changed my brake pads and replaced all filters myself, is servicing the throttle body difficult, i.e. could I replace the idle valve myself? I havent changed my fuel filter for a while...

Im not sure how much they are individually, but if they are going to open the tranny they might as well recondition the whole thing. The whole thing (exluding clutch) cost me $AU1000 which is about $US700. Something tells me they overcharged a bit :(

Im no expert but it sounds like your synchros in the tranny need replacing - this happened to me in 1st gear and I had to get my tranny reconditioned. I left it like it was for a year until my clutch needed replacing to save money.
