your on the same track as i am.
but...
pretty much im doing suspension/rims (coils, camber kit, swap bars, tie bars, lca's, 15inch rota slipstreams) first. - thats all im doing on the exterior. no lips, fogs, tint, or whatever. just a clean stock look with some red/white si tails.
then...
ill build the engine. - whats the point of having the power if you cant put it to the ground?

thats how i used to think, and i did that and it sucked thats why i got rid of my car that everyone said looked nice and i got all sorts of compliments on and i bought my hatch, that s**t is busted and ghetto and pretty much stock, but its faster and thats all i wanted, when it comes down to it, do you have more fun looking at your car or driving your car?
you are right though

ever since i did the conversion i love my car so much more..

i was ready to trade my car for a stock civic that was stick at one point.. i wanted it that badly

Go for the Motor build. I would also suggest suspension mods.

I would say you should start on your suspension first then get a motor...... while you do this juss pick up a couple jdm shiet to make your ride look nice... such like tha grill and housing.... Dont even bother doing anything to tha motor if anything sell tha bizh and INVEST in either a K or B series... I dont really like to turbo a V-tech car... i would turbo either a LS or CRV....

I just came from my boy's shop and he's boosting a y7 in a EK hatch right now. I guess he's going to sell it for $6k. Next time I go I'll take some pics and ask him what kind of tune and psi he'll be running. I know it will be stock internals tho ;)

i agree with revolver (shocking, I know). Do tires and suspension first. You'll realize the difference after just tires, and suspension will pop your cherries. Then go engine, then nice exterior mods, but whatever you do, wheels/tire/suspension FIRST.

all i would do to the exterior is wheels..and just don't get one of those massive bodykits with huge holes everywhere that make it impossible to lower your car and only slow you down by adding 100 pounds to your car :P

i'd say atleast get I/E before you start messing around with the outside

my friend curt was in the same situation as you, he decided to make he car look nice first wheels, suspension, tint, lips, window visors, grille, fogs, carbon fiber hood, headlights, then when he got more money he got sparco seats, momo steering wheel with hub, and a dope cd player, keep in mind his engine is completely stock not even an intake, and now hes saving for a turbo set up check his car out... he actually doesn't have those rims anymore he has mugen rims but you get the idea

Interior is quite important. Theres no point in driving a car that you're uncomfortable sitting in. Good seating, steering, pedal, and shifter positioning are paramount, as well as a seat and harness that keeps you steady during cornering.

Chassis and safety are missing from that list.
