Hi All,

Since the launch of the Civic Type RR and the fact that i just love the thing i decided to give my Mugen Civic a complete facelift. The goal, to transform it into a Type RR look-a-like since i cant afford a real one. So the plan:
1. Complete re-spray to MILANO Red
2. Stainless steel sports exhaust and headers
3. Sports filter
4. Carbon fiber Type RR bonnet
5. Greddy ultimate ECU upgrade
6. Mugen front racing discs and racing pads (front & back)
7. MUGEN Type R full body kit

Thats it really and so here are some photos of the progress. Enjoy & feel free to give some feedback :-)
More pics to come as the car is still in the shop. Will post some more as progress continues :-)

Well here in Thailand cars are relatively ok priced but body kits etc and manual labour is stupidly cheap. The Type RR origianal here in Thailand is 3 million baht or about 100 000 USD as its hit with huge luxury tax so this is the cheapest route :-)

jepp!!!! Thai government loves there luxury taxes. and the RR has to be imported from Japan so no way around it either. Just as an indication of how crazy it is.... a Lamborghini Gallardo costs 21.8 million baht or approx 726 000 big ones. Nuts....and there is one just down the road from me too.!!!!!!

you originally had a mugen civic? or a mugen replica civic?

i thought mugen civics were limited to USA only...

either way... good luck! i wish labor here was that cheap...

Wow that is crazy pricing for a civic! Pretty cool to see a new 8th gen all stripped down and getting repainted. Cant wait to see more.

Will try and find a before photo. But basically the same as the Mugen Civic that came out in 2006 in black. Not original Mugen of course but a nice copy of the same car :-) Was at the car today and things are progressing. Honda here in my local town will be showing my car at the car show 23-27 of this month so lets hope they do a good job of the re-build. So not long before its done. The carbon fiber bonnet unfortunately isnt ready until after the show but heh, good things are worth waiting for. I will keep you all posted on the progress. hAVE FUN :-)

The Mugen Civic Si wasn't just for the US. There were some slightly different accessories for different markets too.

He's making a Mugen Civic Type RR replica, which was only in Japan.
