Hello I am having the same problem someone please help me. I have only had the car a few weeks. Do I need to take it to the shop? I should add I am having this problem on a 05 Civic.
I fixed it by leading a wire from the back of the stereo called illumination. It's usually the red with black stripe. Illumination turns on when the headlight switch is on which I needed. You could try for months on end trying to find the short or spend about an hour, for the noob, and fix it spend like $20 in wire and tape.
