For Sale - Bumping?

I've noticed in the For Sale section that some people are bumping their thread 4-5 times within a 2 hour period. What happened to the rule of you can only bump a thread once every 24 hours or whatever?

nobody amongst the mod staff really cared about it, hell there was a time when i was deleting all those bumps, and poeple were whining and bitching cause they were loosing their valuable post count.

Definitely understand the need for a bump limit but there is an awful lot of stuff to search through in the for sale section, I'd rather have a seller thats bumpin their thread and whos available for communication than one who makes a thread and rarely checks updates...just my 0.02

I'm not saying bumping is a bad thing, but bumping a thread 3 times in an hour?

im not against having some sort of bump limit..

I'd say 2-3 bumps in a 24 hour period is a good limit. If anyone disagrees please, put your input.

yeah 2-3 in 24 hrs is good.

i see people post, hour later the bump it... they usually do it either in the middle of the night, or middle of the day, when no one is really on.

the classifies section is so busy that it's a b***h to keep up with tho. Can't it be made so that your posts won't count in the classified section just like the off topic? It would probably be easier that way.

Yeah, Tom suggested that and I agree'd it'd be a good idea. Another suggestion could possibly be an addon for vBulletin that would limit bumping. I've seen the programs so I know they exist.. It's just up to JayJay to figure what would be a good viable option, or if it's good the way it is.

id be good with that as well but i dont think that will fix the problem.. and the problem being excesive bumping to try to sell s**t..
