Well well...I never thought this day would be coming anytime soon.
The trusty y7 spun a rod bearing earlier this week. I was on my way back from class and lost power on the highway. AWESOME.
Luckily, the highway was a bit more than a mile away from home.
At first, I was thinking about selling it all together and getting something else, but I think i've grown slightly attached to it.
I decided to keep the lil bugger and do my first swap. Nothing too big or fancy, I just needed something to get the car up and running asap. I have class and photoshoots that I need to get to so that I continue making a living off of it.
My friends were able to hook me up with a great condition z6. SOHC VTAK POWA BABY.
OH yeah, you know what i'm talking about. The FURY that we all have come to love and adore.
I have everything for the swap, just gotta order a few more parts to get it running.
Parts List:
- Exedy Stage 1 Clutch Kit - ORDERED
- Fidanza 7lb Flywheel - ORDERED
- ECU Jumper Harness ORDERED
- Dizzy Jumper
- Alternator Belt - ORDERED
- Energy Suspension Motor Mount Inserts - ORDERED
- Aluminum Radiator
- Whale Penis Intake - ORDERED
Whats Getting Done:
- Cleaning up engine bay, it needs a good scrubbing. Might paint it battleship gray, not sure. On the fence about it.
- Doing a full wire tuck
- Cleaning up block and possibly painting it. Powder Coating the valve cover and whatever parts might look good powder coated
- Removing A/C
.
I'm going to take out A/C. I never use it and it'll make things much easier. It'll also give me more room if I decide to go boost. Now, I'm thinking about picking up a random header for it while i'm at it, and a lightened flywheel.
We're going to pull out my engine tomorrow morning. It's already at my buddy's shop. He's a great friend and a good person.
My car now is where the teal/green civic is in the pic:
BTW, thats half the garage.
I'm psyched. I know its not a B-Series, but its my first swap and at least its something a lil bit more peppy than the mighty y7. I'm excited to have the z6 and the different gearing of it.
I'll post updates daily as things go along..!

Hey all. Today was Eventful.
started around 11am today and pulled the car in between the lift:
Then started to unbolt some things, unplug parts of the harness, take off the strut tower bar, etc:
