I was just doing a few 'practice runs' near this shop that our buddies own... happend on my last run powershifting from 2nd to 3rd. That damn knob rolled everywhere around the floor!

LoL. You must be be trying to force the transmission to change gear without depressing the clutch. Seriously...

Ramming the shifter into gear will not make shifting any faster than lighter smoother shifting.

When people tries to power shift/speed shift, they get into a mentality that the harder they shift the faster it will be... well, you see the results now don't you.

rite?!?!? lol! actually what I did for now was I re-threaded the end of the 'stub' with this tool my buddy had, and I screwed on a stock 5th gen civic knob on there. It's really short! I have to lean over when i throw it into 5th!! see:

Again, this is just temporary, I'll replace it with a new one on monday...
