When installing a used tranny, Is it recommended to replace the flywheel?

Depends, if it's got deep grooves in it, chips, .- yes But, otherwise it's recommended to resurface your flywheel.

Is there a "HOW TO" thread on here that shows how to resurface the flywheel?

You actualy have to take it to carquest or a machine shop that can do it.

just take it too any transmission place they will do it and check it. if you live near a pepboys they can do it also.

If you're keeping the same clutch, do not resurface your flywheel. If you're putting on a new clutch, then definitely get your flywheel resurfaced.
