Full synthetic 30w mobil 1 in the summer and 5w30 mobil 1 in the winter

w = weight

also synthetic does not break down as fast as reg oil
You are very wrong. It stand for winter viscosity. Try do become ASE certifide for engine mechanical, & you come accross that question & you say wieght that will be one answer marked wrong.

the weight depends on where you live. Cold climates make a 10w30 a little better to use than the 5w.
you got that backasswards

the colder the climate, 5w would be the wiser choice.

w stands for winter im sure I learned it in school and the s for summer is not there thats why it reads 5w30 = 5 winter 30 summer you want thin oil in the winter so it moves around faster in the summer when its hot your oil is already at an ambient temp of about 70ish in the morning

Hey, guess what W doesn't stand for...
Looks like you beat me to it. :D 8) You are correct sir!

W stands for winter. It's the measurement of the oil's viscosity under cold conditions

I tried Royal Purple in my Swift GTi. In spite of the fact that the G13B has hydraulic lifters, it still rattled. Switched back to Valvoline, noise gone.:what:

Placebo effect.
Under operating conditions and temperatures a 10W30 is going to be the same as a 5W30

5w30 for fall/winter when it gets colder and 10w30 for summer.....just look in ur car manual...it tells u what to use and temperature ranges...and i dont see teh use for synthetic oils except on newer cars that were designed to use tehm...i wouldnt use synthetic on my 93 D block engine...i heard it causes ur s**t to leak

u can use 10w30 only if the temp in ur area never falls below 20 degrees i believe...

in my civic with the y7 and the gsr i used 5w30..HG oil
in the accord it will be 5w-20...
