Iner tires are bald, should replace it?

Most of you believe this may be a stupid question, but I honestly don't know much about tires. I have a set of four tires about two years old, and the iner part of the tires are bald, but the out and bottom of the tires isn't. I do have a camber kit, but unfortune my last alignment specialist sucks! He does a bad job and my alignment basically shifted in two months so it's looks like this / \. We all want our tires to be [] [] straight!

So... If I we to get my tires re-alignment and ajust my camber straight, do I still need to change my tires? Im just trying save money, and I dong want to bring to a specialist because I feel they will fuvking push me to buy new tires, like that last Fool who did my alignment. So what would you suggest?

Get an alignment asap. Before you do anything else.

Those tires technically aren't safe to drive on IMO. I would replace them. But if you really insist on driving on them, as long as the cords aren't showing, you might be okay. The second you start seeing cord, toss them.

John, thanks man. I agree with you, i might not have enough grip during rain, so I probably have to change my tires and get alignment. Well should change tires first? Or alignment right after changing tires?

Get the alignment, then get new tires. And have a reputable shop do the alignment. That way, you know for sure your tires are wearing evenly and properly from the get-go.

What kind of camber kits do you have? It may not necessarily be the fault of the technician that did the alignment. Some alignment kits(mainly the front ones) can easily slip due to the bolts backing out. It's a common problem with cheap kits..

Also, if you're on adjustable coilover suspension and if you're changing you're ride height at all, that will change your camber thus also changing your toe which will eat away your tires.

I bought one of the best camber kit from Skunk2, it's very great quality. I did all my ride height adjustment and stiffness before sending it to alignment, then never touch the suspension. I ask all guys(my friends) and they say it's an bad alignment work.

Skunk2 makes some decent parts, but unfortunately they are one of the companies I had in mind when I made my last reply. Their camber kits have been known for having the 4 bolts on the sliding ball joint loosen up, which would obviously change your camber. Also for completely backing out, which is not good at all. I know some who change the hardware and use loctite to hold.

Also, in defense of who ever does your alignment, it is a major PITA to do a proper alignment with the Skunk2 kit. Very little space to work and you have to loosen, adjust, set, tighten, check the alignment, and do it all over again over and over until you get it right. If you take it to some run of the mil-cheapo shop to get an alignment done but some "certified" kid, chances are higher for having a bad job done.

Yea, I've always wondered how those tiny bolts in those open tracks provided any kind of sure grip... seems like those things would slide, no matter how tight you get them. I bought my upper control arms from EMUSA. They sell on eBay, but are legit. They have little holes that graduate up and down the length of adjustment, so, no sliding.

Might look into those if your skunks get to spraying on you!

Civicexspeedy,
I see. It was seem like a kid working on my car that day. Early twenties... Doesn't look like much experience.

Katrina,
Gotcha! I didn't know sears have autoshop.

Oh, I didn't it shift from time to time from Skunk2. Well when I get my new alignment, if it shift again, I will keep in mind to purchase a new front set. What about the rear? Any problem?

To all,
Driverside.

Passenger.

Two rear side looks like drivers side.

The rear camber kits usually don't have any problems since it's a very basic design and really can't go out of spec on it's own.

Seems like you're not getting any camber wear on the front passenger side. Either the alignment was not do e properly on the front driver side OR the kit has slid out of it's setting and now you're back to having negative camber.

As for the rear, if you have adjustable camber kits, they just may not be set correctly so your alignment is off.

I really agree with you. I assume my alignment in the front had shifted and as for the rear... I was an terrible work done on the alignment and camber.

guys,
Two days ago I tried to get alignment on my car and I found out m lower control arm is bent in the right rear side. I'm very upset to find out that I couldn't get my alignment done because now I get a new set of control arms... I was looking around and I can't find much lower control arms, performance one. What other industries besides skunk2, manufacture performance rear lower control arms for my car? the shop was right, I can't re align my wheels if that part is bent because it will shift my alignment no matter what. the bent was extremely bad...
