dpfi?

i have a 90std. hacth. today i took of the intake piece that says DPFI and inside there was a plate. blocking most of the airflow. Does anyone know what this plate is for and will it help the car perform better if its removed?

are you talking about the buttefly or another plate? does the thing you are talking about have a wire screen on it?

its a an angle bent metal plate that is the first thing the air hits when it gets in the box. its held in by one screw

its their for a reason, it allows propper air flow into the intake side of the head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
