P28 or p06 ecu for a jdm imported d16 non vtec?

basically i bought the d16 as a cheap replacement for my f***ed up d15 from a jdm warehouse, the ecu that came with it is programmed for a automatic and i have a manual so the car only hits like 5k rpms i am told to get a p28 or a 06? can you guys confirm which ecu i need to buy so i can reach the best rpms etc for my car?

alright so i read somewhere else on the internet the p28 was only for vtecs? did i read a wrong perticular statement my mechanics telling me a p28 will be fine and thats what i should get and it will fix my problem but when i reads that p28s are for vtecs i was in confusion. So my question to you will a virgin p28 work fine on my jdm d16?
