The USDM Hatch

A little back story...Got my hatch 4 years ago with 108k on it. Decided to start a build thread now because now I have more time to talk about my car. Haven't done too much to the car since I'm still in school and working on a budget. So here the 'mods' so far:

form and function type 1 coilovers
blox lower control arms
BC camber kit
Blue tinted concave Broadway mirror
C Pillar Bar
Pioneer headunit with matching speakers

Now that I look at this I am slacking on parts
There are other parts that I have had lined up but sold due to indecisive thoughts. Anyways this summer is a start of a new beginning with my car. Had my ups and downs with it, but now I'll be giving it my full attention.
My goal here isn't to track it or win any medals with it, but to finally build the car the way I vision it to be.
So here's how my car currently sits: (also working on a new set of wheels)

Stay tune for more updates...once I get through my finals :roll::suprise:

Very clean, i like it. Just out of curiosity, how far spun down are you on your coils in that pic?

I'm not really sure since I've played around with it so much. my guess is around 2.5 inches to be flushed with 15x7 +38 wheels

I want to get my car back to it's 'stock' look by respraying some of the parts and fix some engine issues and maintaining the car then start spending on bigger things. And im trying to finish off the wheels so I don't rock steelies during the summer.

I know that feeling. Well, from what you've shown us of the car, it doesn't seem like you have too far to go. looks great in my opinion.

Thanks but that's the view from far away. The closer you look the worse it gets haha. Got some dents, leaks, no AC, scratches on the window, and low idle issues. I can fix most, but it's just going to take money and time.

Quick Update:

Finals are finally over so I have more time for my car. Started to take off the door panels and upgrade some parts to it.

Got some tweeters to get better sound from my system. Currently have a pioneer headunit with pioneer speakers front and rear.

Removed the old door panel inserts and decided to go with a hawaiian like theme for the car. Got this idea from a friend, except I dyed mine to get a darker tint.

This is just a little teaser on what I have planned. Could be a stupid idea or a great idea, who knows. Hopefully I get what I need to get done by this week.

I definitely dont like that at all, and thats me being polite. Purple pull-tabs with faded red fabric dont match or contrast at all. That fabric is not Hawaiian print and looks more like it came from either a mumu or an old lady's shirt.

This is a more traditional hawaiian print design...

A mumu is a large loose fitting dress commonly worn by heavily obese women. They usually have flower print.

Im not a fan of busy designs, but if thats the look you want then just find a better looking print & try it again. Perhaps a purple hawaiian print that closer matches that pull-tab. Consider reupholstering the armrest and possibly the headliner to tie it all together. Here are some better matching examples:

You're welcome. Just try to visit multiple fabric & upholstery stores until you find something you're 100% convinced on. Let us know how it goes. Im actually now curious to see this in purple Hawaiian print.

I actually wanted suede fabric at first, which I'll probably look for now, but this fabric caught my eye and the walmart by me had it. Thought it would look good, but with my laziness I just kept going with it.

At least you're honest about the laziness. As for the fabric, take into consideration that the door armrest is a high traffic resting point and suede doesn't handle frequent contact well. Also, being that its on the door it would immediately need a fabric stain protectant from skin oils (regular contact) and water drippage from rain squeaking in when you open & close the door. You would benefit from using a durable fabric or material or otherwise risk needing to reupholster the insert(s) sooner than later.

i personally like ur idea alot. the only things i would do is try to come up with a trim for the cuts in the door the pull tabs are coming out of, that way they are not damaging the door as u pull them. The fabric i would choose something different like they said. but love to idea and i want to do this now haha
