looks almost identical to the scosche kit i took out of my civic when i sold my DDIN. they work great. depending on how you mount the kit to your screen, you can still get at least one OEM ISO screw back in per side to attach the DDIN to the factory metal brackets. a LOT more sturdy.

sell what you have and get a single din flip out. it will be cheaper and easier than swapping everything out.

even if he used the power antenna, that would still be 12v output. he's not having issues with the amps turning off when he changes sources.

but isn't the pocket or clock on the right side of the radio held in with the dash kit?? there is a piece that comes out and folds over to make it look fit and finished.

grounding out somewhere. pull the speakers back out and make sure none of the terminals or connections are touching metal, or can touch metal in a bump.

i've been looking to do the same thing. if you can find a great deal on an extra trunk lid and tail lamps, let me know, hehe.

if i remember correctly, all you have to do is jumper the light green / black wire to the light green / red wire. i know it's been posted around here somewhere. i'm normally looking at the plug when i do it at work, with my DMM handy. light green / red is door trigger in, and light green / black...

but the size of the wire only dictates the current flow through it. 10 item that only pull 1 amp each is only 10 amps, no matter what the accessories listed are. most sat tuners are only like 2 amps, a cellphone charger might only be 1, and so on.

didn't the acura el have factory leather heated seats?? and wasn't that where the factory switches were??

how much current are you looking to pull?? saying things like a phone charger, and sat radio, and cb, and radar might seem like a lot but the phone charger might only pull 1 amp. so you need to look at the over all current draw and we can recommend safe and easy.

12v should be it's output. and it could just be a bad output, or the wire is grounding out somewhere.

check fuses and relays?

you know it's cold when the only way to get your car to function properly is to move states, haha. good call on the thaw though.

it's in the factory back window of my 99 ex. remove the radio that was installed and make sure the antenna was plugged in.

one of the reasons that speakers that don't play as low freq require less power is because a majority of a speaker's power requirement goes to playing low freq. if you eliminate that, then you don't need as much power.
