hey steve-o nice roll cage your building.the rex coming along pretty cool and i think your not going to have a problem getting in cause your a pretty slim dude so i think you should be good...

working on the cage tonight, right now i am welding the rear brackets for the bar that goes from each of the rear strut mounts.

bandsaw comes in handy right about now

yea i bet it is nice to have a bandsaw for many different purposes. even cutting large chunks of meat. post more pics of ur cage work

i am working on welding the moutns in, trying to get atleast the bar in tonight.

i am taking pics of the bracket i fabed up.

needs better fit, nothing a hammer cant fix.


Tacked in.


Cross bar tacked in, and i am done for tonight, that alone probably adds some stiffness to the chassis, its a tight fit, beat in with a hammer, then leveled and tacked.




i must say, looks sexy in person.
although you will never see the brackets when the interior panels go back in.
get the "JDM" Thumbs up.

although i give you a thumbs up for effort, im gonna say good luck passing any sort of NHRA tech inspection with a fluxcored cage

only those rear brackets were fuxed in, the bar was tacked with flux but will not be welded with fluxcore.

the whole cage wont be flux core, waiting to get my tank of argon/co2 mix.
and i have seen people use less of a welder to do roll cages.

people using 90amp welders.

new turbo manifold, got in a trade(for thermal exhaust)
Mini Ram, used, but for only about 15-20 miles.

40mm wastegate i plan on running with the manifold.

same brand as my diverter valve

and turbo mock up, when i get my wastegate, i can make the DP and all on the engine stand.
no pistons or crank in the block.

damn that motor is sexy. what size turbo is that? i like the car too, makes me want to cage mine.
t3/t4 to4, 57 trim. actually thinking of replacing it with a GT28 or GT30

might be buying pistons thursday, SRPs

only thing i dislike about minirams is the oil drain placement. the turbo hangs so low, its hard to get a proper drain. although people use them with no problems for the most part

should make good power
