K-Series Specs

Well, I figured this would be some good reference material for all of you K-Series swappers. This should also help you to decide which engine you'd like to swap in. If you have anything to add, post away and I'll append as necessary. Feel free to help me fill in the question marks.

Special thanks to ojay for helping out with this.

For all the n00b's, K20A3 would be best for turbo applications. Where as K20A and K20A2 is best for all motor set ups.

Although, with the K20A3, you can use A and A2 parts to get up to par with K20A2's... but compression is one thing you need to watch out for.

just out of curiostiy, how much does a K20A3 normally go for? I'm still thinking over my options....because it's going to be a good while before any of my asperations can be financially in reach. So I'm spending the meantime weighing my options and going back and forth on what i wanna do.

Joe another good thing to add to your spec sheet would be that list of misc. parts needed for the swap and maybe some info on a 5 lug conversion.

yea... 5 lug conversion is pretty much needed.. Unless you want 5 lug in front and 4 lug in back.

EDIT: Actually... now that I think of it.. you can get Si axles that have 4-lug hubs and use them.

But turbo can only push your engine so far. 160hp engine with turbo probably can't beat 220hp engine without turbo... can it?

It's safer to boost the low compression engine as opposed to the high compression engine. The A2 is boostable... but I'd recommend low compression pistons
