Tokyo, you need to be more flexible. not saying give up all of who you are, but comon, your shirts are organized by color in ascending order? women of california fulfill every type under the sun. trust me i know.

My shirts ascend by color and by style. Same with pants, shoes, bags, coats, etc in my closet. It makes more sense, faster to find things, and looks nicer. For myself.
Being flexible is huge though. I think that is the most important thing I've learned over the years. You grow together, and no more this is mine that is yours.
If you're in it for the ling haul, its 50/50 no matter what. Imagine the struggles I had when my BF became daddy to my dog. Whew...rough at first. Now I sit and almost cry with happiness watching the love with them.
