Hey everyone --

2000 Civic HX w/ ~85000 miles.

Got a Check Engine Light and I pulled the code at AutoZone --

"P1162 Air/Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor (Sensor 1) Slow Response"

It appears to be some time of O2 sensor type issue...

  1. What should I check first?
  2. Do I need to know anything different since this is an HX and I think they use a OEUGO sensor
  3. How much for a new sensor?
  4. How hard is it to replace?
  5. Any issues in not fixing it ASAP?
Thanks in advance.

they do not use a OEUGO sensor. they have a leanburn wideband o2 sensor. its $455 from anywhere. good luck wanting to pay for it. my primary o2 has been out for about 7 months now. i unplugged it from the plug and my car ran fine. it put the ecu into safe mode and hindered performance ( what EVER little performance i had before ). now that my stock hx ecu crapped out. i run a stock virgin p28 and my car runs bette than it ever did before. they are easy to replace if you have an open end wrech big enough 22mm or if you have the o2 sensor socket. there are no major worries with not replaceing it other than your car will start to run like total crap. i mean it will hesitate really really bad and not have anything when you push the pedal. i got so tired of mine running like crap so i got the p28.
