18 HP from an intake?

hi all, im a newb here, sri lankan (yes !! we are famous for our tea!!) by orgin posted here in dubai for work.

so what do u guys recommend? i just did a 97 jdm SiR2 DC2 b18 swap in my 97 EK h/b. running d2 coilovers, dc2 strut bar, ecu from my friend at www.tunedichips.net . Im prep'n this car for autoX. any recommendations of parts and sites that could ship me parts to this part of the world? thinking of cams/spring/retainr, intake, exhaust, intake manifold and suspension stiffening (strut, sway, etc).

i'd just get a k&n drop in and use the factory airbox but thats me so oh well

unfortunately the DC2 SiR2 airbox did not fit in my car as it hits the radiator .. so im just running the stock piping and the paper cone filter at the end (without the box)

Well i have to disagree with a few of you, I do believe in a 40lb change in torque, If you take your ebrake off. However, This pipe does look to be something special. Its a darker color, which means stealth. I love stealth, hence at night time, you will gain almost 18hp while going down a hill, over a stock airbox going up a hill in 4th. I will have to look into purchasing something like this....well something simmilar, more on the lines of a turbo

there arent to many bolt ons that offer double digit gains
more along the lines of 4 to 8 hp ...especially on a lower end motor ....forget about it

check out weapon-r new secret intakes. it made around 16whp and 30wtq on the srt4 and they even have a dyno vid. www.weapon-r.com i know its turbo but thats huge from an intake.

a) they are flat out lying if they're telling you the intake will give them 16whp

b) even if that were true, that equates to about a .5 crank hp gain on a honda

c) they are flat out lying
