Hey guys. I am not familiar with Civic, but my sister has a 1996 Civic 1.6L. The check engine light came on so I want to see the DTC that it throws out. I am having a hard time locating the Service 2-pin connector... some sources say it is under the dashboard on passanger side? What colour is this connector? Thanks

It's black and it's under the driver side dash near the hood release. It's facing down so you might have to get on your back and look up into the dash.

Oh woops I read wrong lol....sorry....

If you're looking for the blue 2-pin connector, that's on the passenger side by the right foot. You can remove that small plastic panel and access the blue 2-pin connector.

So can I short out these two pins using a wire, or do I have to use the special connector ?
