2000 Civic EX randomly clunks in reverse with wheel turned.

Doesn't do it often, just every so often... Will usually clunk with the wheel turned about 75% of the way (steering remains tight and responsive both ways). Just had the wheel bearings, All motor mounts and steering rack boots replaced.. Figured that the sound was due to the bad mounts, but now I don't know. I've checked the ball joints and other components, but all looks well. I hear no clunks or thumps going down the road..just every so often in reverse...

Out of ideas...

check and make sure your cv boots arnt torn. i had similar issue and thn saw my cv boot was torn and just replaced the cv axle for pretty cheap

Boots look good.. but going to investigate them further.. The weight of the engine being on them while the mounts were out probably wore on them internally...

That's most likely your case. Since you have the mounts replaced, go ahead and replace both the CV axles. Be on the safe side
