2008 Coupe LX Side View Mirror and Transmission Oil

Hey guys!

I need a replacement for my left side-view mirror (the glass fell off, wiring and electronics are intact). The dealer told me the whole assembly would have to be replaced. I googled a bit and came across this:

http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sku/Honda/Civic/Kool_Vue/Mirror/2008/LX/4_Cyl_1-dot-8L/HD43EL.html?loc=Driver+Side&tlc=Auto+Body+Parts+&+Mirrors

It is about $100 cheaper than the dealer's price (minus labor). Are such replacements easy to install? I have no experience with electronics of such kind. Would you recommend getting the authentic Honda replacement?

On a side note, would it affect my warranty in any way if I changed air filters and transmission oil on my own?
What brand of engine and transmission oil would you recommend?

Thank you for your time!

you just have to hope the plastic they used matches your plastic..the LX's dont have color matched mirrors right?

because if they do buying from honda they come painted.

I would suggest buying it from Honda since you will have a warranty with them and they won't trouble you with the cars warranty. I mean it is a bit more but probably a better quality one too
