5th Gen. Civic overheating

First post, probably out of place. Probably answered in some way. But these are some messy forums and I'm trying to get an answer sooner rather than later.

My 2005 Honda Civic VP (manual) started overheating on me last night. I turned the heat on and only cool air was blowing out, even as the temperature gauge crept higher. Eventually it topped out and I killed the car and let it cool off before driving a short distance home.

This morning I checked the radiator fans and they kicked on when I turned on the AC and when I shorted the relay as instructed for a troubleshooting method. So I replaced the thermostat and took it for a spin and again, same story. I'm kinda at a loss now. Any ideas as to what my next step should be? I'm trying to get this thing up and running asap.

Checking the amount of fluid left in it.

Try bleeding the system.

Make sure the water pump is still working.

Crap like that.
