Of all the times, mid winter deep freeze and the Heater Motor goes.
For a while now its been not working but if I tapped under the glove compartment it would come on and work. However today it finally kicked the can, it turned on and then shut of immediatly. Wont come on anymore no matter how much I tap it.
I should also mention for a bit the the Blower Motor would run when i tapped it but sometimes it was strong and sometimes weak, is this an electrical issue?
Does anyone know what the issue could be? The one person I spoke to said Blower Motor. Is this easy to replace? Where can I find it? Will I have to pull apart my dash to get to it.
I found a fair amount of information but I wanted to confirm with people before I went ahead and started doing things:
I read over the service manual
It says how to replace the "Blower" but not the Blower Motor.
I wonder can you remove the blower Motor without disassembling the Blower itself
I found this link describing how to do it for an accord but I'm guessing the location and setup of the blower motor for the accord and civic are probably the same:
http://en.allexperts.com/q/Honda-Repair-814/Blower-Motor.htm
I guess this is the part:

I took a look under the glvoe box, found the 3 screws I have to remove to drop the blower motor but ofcourse, there isnt enough clearance for a normal screw driver to get in there.
After reading another forum, it seems that It cant clear the floor board:

This site here also implies You cant simply drop it down if you have AC.

Guess this means I gotta pull the whole thing apart.
Bah, how frustrating
Does anyone know if you can simply remove it? Which method is correct?
I have a 91 Honda Civic DX.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
