bad beat gambling

so my dad went to the casino today, playing his usual texas hold-em no limit.... he folded his hand, but two other guys went head to head... Ace/Ace vs Queen/Queen

The guy with the aces got a full-house with tens; the guy with the queens got a quad.

The guy with the aces walked out, remember LOSING (bad beat), yet won 22,000.
The guy who "won" got 11k.

Everyone else at the table got $1500, including my dad.

Now I'm regretting I wasn't a degenerate gambler today.

Point of the story: gambling == good.

gambling isn't good. its skill not just gambling that makes you good. there wouldn't be multi-billion dollar casino industry if gambling benefited you, the gambler.

Exactly. The thing about the house usually winning isnt a myth or legend or whatever. Ive heard of people losing their life's savings to gambling at casinos. Ill stick to playing my $10 buy-ins with my friends

no s**t gambling is bad... unless youre lucky or good.

this circumstance pops up once every 2 months or so at the tullalip casino out here in Washington.... its friggin huge and people are ALWAYS there... so its a pretty rare event.
