Boost question.

I have a 97 civic ex with a stock d16y8.
My tranny and head have both been rebuilt with OEM parts by a professional.
Everything is sealed except my front main seal has a leak but that will be fixed soon because it's covered by warranty.
Anyways,
My car has 207xxx miles on it besides the head and tranny.
The tranny probably only has about 10 thousand miles on it.
My head, about 7-8.
My engine block has all 207xxx miles on it.
I want to boost at about 8 psi and I was wondering if I should have anything
done to the block considering it has so many miles, no problems at all have come out of it.
I want to keep it OEM though and not spend too much on aftermarket parts.

Set the PSI to the ECU tune. Not the other way around. As long as your car is tuned correctly and all your gauges are reading correctly, you shouldn't have problems with in the OEM motor "safe" zone. As far as the motor goes, I mean... The safest tune in the world can't guarantee it won't blow on the first day or 5 years down the road. If you have time and money and want piece of mind, build it for boost. Other wise just be sure you do every proven step and you should be reasonably safe.

Don't set your mind on the amount of boost you want to run. That's a mistake.
