bought a new header. will it fit my y7?

Alright heres the deal from first hand experience.

You install a 4-2-1 header on your D16Y7. You will have NO cat, your car will smell funky and the rear of the car will get dirty. Also, at ~3000RPMs, your car will get REALLY raspy, but it will go away once you pass it.
You can install a Y8 cat, but a custom exhaust shop will have to do this since welding would be involved. I believe the megan racing high flow "cats" are just resonators, so that wont do anything about the smell from your car.
Get a new high flow cat (such as OBD0 or OBD1 spec) and have it installed. Installing ANY cat will greatly reduce the smell and raspiness you will get from your exhaust.

Any cheap generic piece of s**t... Just as long as its an actual catalytic converter and not just a straight pipe or resonator.

you dont need sensor bungs on the cat itself, you can have a shop install them downstream from the cat. or you could convert to obd1 and not even worry about the downstream o2 sensor

They usually dont. Your header will have a spot for the second o2 sensor. If you dont want to throw a CEL, just get a $10 spacer from eBay so your 2nd o2 sensor reads less air.

oh ok.
cuz i got bored and decide to just go ahead and put the header on.
everything bolts up right i just had to force the 2.5'' header to fit a 2.25'' pipe.
i couldnt fit the little ring thing in there.
so all in all an exhaust shop is gonna have to make me some bigger piping.

CEL Check Engine Light Eliminator Oxygen Sensor Spacer

Its on eBay. I got it for $10. It fixed my friends and my o2 CEL's.
