Some a*****e pulled out in front of me and I SLAMMED on my brakes and I still hit him. There was tons of fluid leaking out underneath the car and my brakes stopped working after I slammed on them. I brought my car to a mechanic and he said my brake lines were all rusted and thats why they bursted. How much would it cost for brake lines #8 and #10 to be replaced? I assume that is the only two brake lines that visually looked like they were leaking. And do you suggest i bring it to Midas("the brake specialists" chain) or a mechanic?

you're looking at alot of money. If your brake lines are all rusted up you might as well replace the rest, since they will eventually give out too. I think I was quoted $2000 to re-run all my brake lines on my old 95 villiger van....so my guess is atleast $1000. and go to a mechanic..

Go to a dealer, buy brake line #8, install it yourself. It is not hard to do. If you can find junkyard that have civics, go there, take off this line yourself. In the process you will learn how hard it is to put it on your car.

:word:

id do it yourself, its not that hard.

Theres a plastic 'diffuser' type piece under your car that all this stuff runs through. Really simple and easy to get to. The biggest problem is going to be bleeding all of that air out of the system... its going to take awhile.
