Buying a used 2000 honda civic SIR

Looking into buying a Used Honda Civic SIR ( Canadian verson of the American SI )

What should I look for and what should I look out for ?

unreported collisions too, its probably worth your time and money to have a mechanic check out the car before buying it

If you arent really good at looking things over for problems and knowing what certain sounds mean if it makes any noises or pops or skweaks then i deifintly agree wth oblivionek have a mechanic look at it and anyone who will not let you have a mechanic look over it i personally i wouldnt buy from them
just see if they are ok meeting you at the mechanic shop of your choice and go from there

and how would i know if the car's been stolen ??

i have a friend who can do a VIN number search for all infomation but will that detect if its been stolen ?

should i be buying a 1999 civic sir or a 2000 civic sir whats the diffrences ?
