I actually drive a '94 V6 Explorer right now....

Its not a bad car. Its comfortable, has been pretty reliable since we've owned it (brand-new off the lot), and we kinda need it to get up to our family's Mtn. House (4wd).... I still want something else, though....

I don't like driving behemoth cars, and this gets about 17 mpg.... So, yeah....

the Escape isn't THAT bad.

It's a modified Mazda 626 chassis and has an engine variant of the Mazda MZR.

:what: the CR-V is still preferable but the Escape is okay.

:smackself:

Gawd I hate Exploders.

You could get a Trailblazer/Envoy/Ascender with a VVT DOHC L6 and about 65 more hp with about the same mpg for about the same price. Hell, Ascenders are cheap.....they don't look as good as the Envoy but they are essentially the same truck for less

I even prefer the Grand Cherokee over the Exploder... with a twist axle out front though the ride isn't much better though.

Or even an Xterra... although when they had 4 cylinders, Xterras were hella' slow.

Probably could have gotten a new Sorento, the interiors on those are suprisingly nice. I'm still kinda' on the fence about those though. I've heard that the reliability is good....but it is still a Kia. :what:

We brought it home today, adn we're both happy with our purchase, even got a 4 year 60k warranty, so in the case of needing repair, hopefully it'll be covered by that.

Fords tend to need front end rebuilds around 70k

Good ol' Ford Exploder...

Get the warranty, you'll need it for the trans and transfer case (4wd engaged on the transfer case, via the use of a wiper motor  )

WIPER MOTOR!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH! :rolf :haha:

never heard of it described that way. Funny because it's true.

Rangerphiles insist that if you engage 4 High, 4 Low, then back to 2 high once a week that it won't freeze up. :what:

what the hell do they know? They like Rangers.
