ok when i drive for long distances at a time, my cars temp is just fine, but when i stop and let it idle for lets say 20 minutes the temp of the car starts to rise, could it be my thermostat??
and if it is what is the temp civics are supposed to be? bc if it is the thermostat then i would like to upgrade with one that keeps the car cooler

Check the cooling fans to make sure their working. Check the cooling fan switch. Fuse. And relay

Start by bleeding the cooling system thoroughly.
^This. Happened to me once which is when I found out I had a leaky hose lol. If you find no bubbles and no leaks and you're slightly inclined you can try jumping the fan to the battery just to see if it works. Narrow stuff down a tad

After you bleed the system, if it doesn't work try jumping the fans, as previously stated, Im assuming you know how to jump the fan?! If not it's easy, find the plug for the temp sensor (mine was d17a1, right across from the upper rad, coming from the thermostat housing, B and D16 are on the rear left of the motor if your looking at it from the front on), jump with a wire, and click the ignition to ON.
