ok, my CEL is on with the P0420 code...i have an 02 ex 5 spd coupe...my friend said that in order to change my cat, i would need to replace my header too? is this true? im in college kinda broke...what will i have to do to fix problem? o one more thing, whenever i get up to just past 4k rpm, my car lags really hard...any help would be appreciated...

Not too sure with that year of civic, but your friend COULD be correct, yes.
Some of them have the cat built into the header.
Your other option may be get a cheap ebay header, and a magnaflow high flow cat mounted in the normal area down under the car.

would it be worth buying the cheap ebay header? i no its ebay but...i already have an exhaust on it... its cat back, or i thought it was?
ebay headers are alright, i got a ko sport one, cheap looks nice and works well
well i would only suggest doing it to get rid of the cat/header thing the car already has; and put the cat down under the car. It would be cheaper, wouldn't give you any power really though. And it'll add a little more rasp to the tone.
